First of all, let me tell you that Ranbir Kapoor is not a Star but a Superstar from now onwards. He has joined the A-List stars. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has taken a bumper opening all across the country.
The morning shows occupancy in Multiplexes is around 90-100% while 60-70% in Single Screens. It was well expected that the film will open well in Multiplexes as Ranbir's fan following and the genre of the film is suitable to the mass audiences.
In few areas like Delhi city, Gurgaon and Chandigarh, YJHD is all set to smash the records of Dabangg 2. Overall the highest non-holiday opening day record is with Dabangg 2 which collected around 20 crore.
The opening day record of Dabangg 2 is also not safe but it is quite difficult for YJHD to collect something above 18 crore as the mass areas will not give huge collections. YJHD is released on 3100 screens in India.
We early predicted the first day collections to be around 11-14 crore but the current trend shows that the movie can go above 15 crore. As today is a working day so the occupancy in the late afternoon and evening shows is not expected to be as strong as the morning shows occupancy.
Overall, YJHD has taken a flying start and Ranbir Kapoor has proved that he is now a Superstar.
